JOIN PERFORMER AND ACTIVIST DAN DE LA MOTTE IN A DEEP-DIVE OF HACKNEY'S MOLLY HOUSES AT NEWINGTON GREEN MEETING HOUSE FOR LGBT+ HISTORY MONTH 2026 In the 1700s a Molly House was a Queer pub, but it was much more than this as well. It was a community space, a ceremonial space, a space for gender and sexual exploration and play and mischief. A space where Mollies set and made their own language, customs, codes and costumes. A raucous space, yes, but a safe one as well. There were more Queer spaces in London during this time* than there are today. Makes you think eh? Join Dan de la Motte for an exploration of these incredible spaces and their significance, and how Mollies revelled in their existence while hiding in plain sight. All set within the incredible and atmospheric surroundings of Newington Green Meeting House, the home of Radical Thought. *per capita
