We are back with the seventh edition of La Monocle’s monthly queer film club, created in collaboration with the wonderful Caroline Cassin. Each month, we gather to celebrate queer cinema, build community, and create a welcoming space to meet new people. This month we are going to be showing Ethan Coen’s 2024 Crime Comedy road film Drive-Away Dolls.
Starring Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan the story surrounds Jamie and Marian, a pair searching for a fresh start. The two women embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, Fla. However, things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals along the way.
We’ll open doors at 6:30pm for a relaxed hour of mingling giving you a chance to chat and make friends. Drinks and snacks will be available at the Cinema Museum cafe/bar.
The film begins at 7:30pm. Whether it’s simply wanting a warm space to carry conversations, wanting to meeting new people or to discover the beauty of Queer cinema. We got you.
