Queer Birders London Presents: Peckers, Palettes & Picnic
About
We're on a quest to create a London based birdwatching crew. We're not professionals, just bird nerds learning as we go.
This is not a guided tour, but a safe space to hang out in nature with likeminded folk, and to share our knowledge with each other. If you spot a cool bird, tell us, and we'll do the same!
Event Info
š°ļø Date: Sunday 14th June, 11am
šLocation: Finsbury Park (meet outside the main entrance by Manor House Station/Park view Cafe)
šØ Spot some birds and paint your favourite one
š¦ Make a bird zine/collage
š« Share some grub
Weāll start the day at 11am with a slow bird walk, keeping our eyes peeled for Woodpeckers, and then set up some blankets where weāll proceed with some arts, crafts, and a picnic/potluck š„
This is weather dependent but if itās raining we will proceed with the bird walk and then walk to our backup (indoor) location.
ā¢ā ā The crafts will be a mixture of painting, drawing and bird themed zine making.
ā¢ā ā Bring sketchpads/paper/old magazines and any art supplies you have.
ā¢ā ā Potluck/Picnic - bring your favourite dish or snacks to share, or just bring yourself some grub.
We will supply what we can but if you have any of the above please bring them along, as we have no funding.
There will be 5 free tickets for those who canāt afford it and 15 Pay What You Can/Donation based tickets. We want our events to be accessible for all, and all funds raised will go to our binocular/future event fund.
Please bring your own binoculars if you can, but if you donāt have any, we have a couple of spares and are willing to share!
Please send us a DM at @queerbirderslondon if all the free tickets are gone and this is a barrier to your attendance.
See you there!
