Smell Club! A whole new way of exploring scent.
Curious about the possibilities of scent? Eager to try something new in a relaxed and fun way?
This session delves into the cultural history and symbolism of scent, botany, and perfume materials that have been representing LGBTQ+ cultures and identities.
We will explore together a set of perfumer-grade natural and synthetic aromatic materials, as a way to think the world through the lens of the most underrated and marginalised of all the senses – the sense of smell.
We will learn about the provenance and properties of each olfactive material, along with their history and rich symbolism. This will allow to find new ways of experiencing and describing the world around us.
All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary.
You will leave smell club with your own queer smell club zine and a renewed appreciation for perfume materials.
