About
MARYVILLE SALON (a FLINTA+ Literary & Arts Festival)
The Maryville Salon is a weekend of events exploring lesbian, trans and queer literature, and the breadth of our fabulous queer culture. It takes its inspiration from Joelle Taylor's poetry collection, Maryville, which spans 50 years in a lesbian bar, 1957-2007, using the bar, and its butch lesbian regulars, as a means to explore life within queer communities across that period. Events across the weekend will include workshops based on queer archives, an art exhibition by Emily Witham, as well as writing and visual art workshops taking place at Triangle in Deptford (home to the Parlour Gallery) and the Queer Britain Museum in Kings Cross. All are welcome to attend.
