About
Join us for the ninth edition of La Monocle’s monthly queer film club, created with film programmer Caroline Cassin. Each month, we gather at the beautiful Cinema Museum to celebrate queer cinema and foster a welcoming space to meet new people and build community. On 14th July, we are excited to screen Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut, Booksmart (2019), starring Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever, in this fresh and queer spin on the teen comedy genre.
On the eve of their high school graduation, Amy and Molly, two overachieving best friends, realise they’ve spent too much time studying and not enough partying. Determined to make up for lost time, they attempt to cram four years of experiences into one unforgettable night.
Doors will open at 6:30pm for a relaxed hour of low music and mingling, offering time to chat and make friends. Drinks and snacks are available at the Cinema Museum cafe/bar. There is also a small book stall you can browse before the film.
The film begins at 7:30pm. Whether you’re seeking new friends, a supportive space to relax, or a chance to experience the beauty and history of Queer cinema together, we aim to make every guest feel valued and welcome.
