FILTH is a collective of working-class queer antifascists, organisers, and creatives reclaiming Pride for our community. FILTH exists because fascism is on the rise, and pretending Pride is just a party isn’t cutting it anymore. Queer people are under attack in the streets, online, and through policy, while mainstream Pride celebrations across the country continue business as usual. At best, they do nothing. At worst, they extract from the very communities they claim to represent - partnering with profiteers of exploitation, climate destruction, and genocide. Pride was never meant to be safe, neutral, or profitable. It was a tool for resistance, organising, and liberation - a way for queer people to take space, demand change, and protect each other. That power hasn’t disappeared, but it’s been buried under corporate sponsorships, brand deals, and a version of Pride that tells us to be grateful for scraps instead of angry at the systems oppressing us and other marginalised communities. We’ve been sold corporate support as progress. We’re watching that lie collapse in real time. In reality, it’s conditional, transactional, and already being withdrawn. So we’re building an alternative in London - starting with this event in July on the same day as Pride in London. FILTH isn’t curated for sponsors or PR photos. It’s by and for queer Londoners who are done watching Pride get hijacked by corporations, dropped as soon as we’re no longer profitable, and treated as a career ladder by influencers and people who’ve never had to fight for their place in this city. Every year, it gets whiter, richer, cleaner, and further away from the people who actually built queer culture in London. This event is built by the people who make queer London what it is - grassroots DJs, performers, organisers, and crews who keep the culture alive. The value stays with us. Not agencies. Not brands.
