The Cinema Museum is an accessible venue. Portrait of a Lady on Fire, directed by Céline Sciamma, is a breathtaking story of forbidden love and artistic collaboration. Set in 18th-century France, the film follows a painter commissioned to secretly paint a wedding portrait of a young woman, and the intense, intimate relationship that develops between them. Widely regarded as a modern queer classic, the film is a powerful meditation on love, memory, and the female gaze. All of our events help fund the opening of our own bar, built by and for the FLINTA community in South London.
