Spend some time in nature and queer PoC community on a mindful walk with Rainbow Mind and special guest, Toni Murphy from Touch Grass!
Our QTIBAPoC* mindful walks offer a safe, welcoming space for you to connect with others, engage all of your senses and learn about mindfulness. It's a great opportunity for us to take a moment away from the stresses of day to day life, be in nature, and practice being mindful and aware in support of our mental and physical wellbeing.
*Queer, Trans, Intersex, Black, Asian, People of Colour
This QTIBAPoC walk will be a space to explore nature photography as a way to practice bringing our awareness to the present moment.
Toni will introduce us to film photography, showing us how to use film cameras and take the best shots. We'll then be invited to put these skills into practice on the walk using one of the shared film cameras available. What you choose to photograph will be led by your own creativity and curiosity, but Toni will stop us along our route to suggest photo moments and subjects!
After the walk, Toni will get the films developed and share the works online, so that we can admire and celebrate our shared creation! We may not know who took which photo, but the photos will serve as a great reminder of our time in nature, together.
Toni is a community organiser, outdoor educator, and founder of Touch Grass. As a queer Black woman, she is committed to creating inclusive, healing spaces beyond nightlife culture. Her work blends lived experience with a values-driven approach to environmental justice, mental health, and community care.
Touch Grass CIC is a community-led outdoor collective creating gentle, welcoming nature spaces for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour. We run gatherings that fuse nature and creativity always at a pace that centres rest, safety and belonging. Touch Grass centres joy and healing while claiming space in nature together.
