After the success of the first 3 nights R.U…Looking is back! We're back at Bistrotheque in Bethnal Green- AND WE ARE MONTHYL!! The event is like other singles nights popping up, a bunch of guys in a bar (serving non-alcoholic drinks and nibbles) some music, optional light ice breakers, and good vibes- and a bit of twister for good measure.
Are you sick of online dating apps? Are you over the endless messaging that leads nowhere? Ghosts and the general hopelessness. Enough! Try something new by taking a chance on the old way. Meeting people in person! With clubs, pubs and events often so geared around the consumption of alcohol “R.U... Looking?” is a new singles night (for queer/gay men) looking to create a space to meet like minded sober guys and people looking for connection love and everything in-between.
Rhys: “I went to a sober singles night recently and had a great time. It was refreshing to be in a room full of single guys who had the cards on the table so to speak, for some reason I hadn’t thought about the fact that everyone would be drinking- this was fine but I wondered how it would look if there was a space like this for people who were sober. I also wanted to insert a bit more ice brakers and ways to help connection (that wasn’t a drink) So this is my attempt. I really want this to be a space about connection and maybe even finding love and everything inbetween. I also want to try and foster a genuinely kind and warm space- dating is an anxiety inducing thing so I’m asking guys to leave egos at the door, come in with openess and respect. Let’s communicate and remember we’re all just humans looking.”
This is a Sober event for Sober people. We aren't here to police peoples sobriety. Are you in the rooms? Are you 'California sober' What does sober mean to you? We won't tell you what to do but we ask that you come in understanding that this is and event for people who identify as 'Sober' There will be stickers to help let others know info.
